Job Description

About Penbrothers

Penbrothers is an HR & remote talent management partner and one of the fastest growing companies in the Philippines. We provide talented Filipinos with global opportunities in high-growth startups and dynamic companies, from the comfort of their own homes.

About the Client

Our client is a U.S.-based property management and flexible living company that specializes in providing fully furnished, move-in-ready homes across major cities in the United States. Their platform simplifies the rental experience for modern renters by combining thoughtfully designed living spaces with technology-enabled operations and end-to-end property management services.

They partner with property owners and real estate operators to optimize occupancy, streamline leasing processes, and deliver high-quality living experiences at scale. With a strong focus on operational efficiency, data-driven decision-making, and customer experience. They operate at the intersection of real estate, technology, and hospitality in the growing flexible living market.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior US Bookkeeper to support their U.S.-based property management operations. In this role, you will take ownership of daily bookkeeping activities, ensure accurate financial records, and support month-end processes across multiple entities using QuickBooks Online.

You will work closely with U.S.-based stakeholders and play a critical role in maintaining financial accuracy, processing payments, and supporting core accounting operations. This role is ideal for a highly detail-oriented accounting professional who is confident working independently, comfortable with U.S. accounting workflows, and excited to deepen their exposure to property management systems and processes.

Beyond core bookkeeping, you'll also gain hands-on experience with U.S. property management software (training provided), making this a strong opportunity for someone looking to specialize further in real estate and property accounting within a global, remote-first environment.

Work hours: 10:00 pm to 7:00 am PHT / 9:00 am to 6:00 pm (EST) / 6:00 am to 3:00 pm PST.

Work set-up: Remote

What you'll do

  • Manage daily bookkeeping operations using QuickBooks Online, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Code and reconcile transactions across bank accounts, credit cards, and internal systems.
  • Process accounts payable, including vendor payments, bill tracking, and payment scheduling.
  • Support month-end close activities such as reconciliations, journal entries, and basic reporting.
  • Maintain clean and well-organized financial documentation to support audits and internal controls.
  • Perform light administrative accounting tasks, including data cleanup, record maintenance, and ad hoc finance support.
  • Learn and work with the U.S.-based property management software to support accounting workflows (training provided).
  • Collaborate with U.S.-based stakeholders to resolve discrepancies, clarify transactions, and ensure financial accuracy.

What You Bring

  • 5–7 years of hands-on experience in bookkeeping, accounting operations, or a similar finance role.
  • Expert-level proficiency in QuickBooks Online, including transaction management and reconciliations.
  • Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills, with experience using lookups, pivot tables, and basic data analysis.
  • Prior experience supporting U.S.-based companies and familiarity with U.S. accounting practices.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Highly self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently in a remote environment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in property management or real estate accounting.
  • Exposure to multi-entity or multi-location QuickBooks Online environments.
  • Familiarity with U.S. property management platforms or rental management systems.
