About the role:
We are seeking a Senior Test Engineer (Automation) to join a delivery-focused team supporting enterprise transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate is a strong hands-on automation engineer with experience building test frameworks, integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines, and improving release confidence across API and UI environments. This role is best suited to someone who is highly technical, execution-focused, and comfortable working directly with stakeholders while still doing the work themselves. The engineer should also have practical exposure to non-functional and performance testing, with the ability to identify stability and performance risks before go-live.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain automated test coverage across API and UI layers.
- Build and improve reusable automation frameworks.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Support functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
- Identify and communicate non-functional risks including performance and stability concerns.
- Help reduce production issues by improving pre-go-live quality coverage.
- Work closely with engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders throughout delivery.
- Support defect triage, quality reporting, and release readiness decisions.
- Contribute to documentation and handover to support ongoing delivery and BAU needs.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience in QA automation or test engineering.
- Strong experience with automation, CI/CD, and framework building.
- Experience testing APIs and UI workflows.
- Ability to stay hands-on rather than operating only as a lead or coordinator.
- Experience working closely with stakeholders while remaining technically deep.
- Exposure to non-functional or performance testing and related risks.
- Strong understanding of system stability, failure points, and release readiness.
- Experience supporting enterprise or complex integrated systems.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Availability to work in a remote setup aligned with the required time zone.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Playwright and TypeScript.
- Experience with GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD tooling.
- Strong SQL skills for validation and troubleshooting.
- Experience in financial services or other regulated environments.
- Experience supporting long-running transformation or modernization programs.
