We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager (North America) to join our Finance and Accounting team. This role will primarily lead indirect tax compliance and operations, with a strong focus on U.S. sales and use tax, while also supporting income tax compliance, tax provision, and related accounting activities.
. Lead U.S. sales and use tax compliance, including return review, filings, payments, reconciliations, registrations, and nexus monitoring.
. Partner with internal teams and external advisors to determine the taxability of products and services and support accurate tax treatment.
. Manage indirect tax notices, audits, exemptions, and related documentation.
. Identify opportunities to improve and automate indirect tax processes, systems, and controls.
. Monitor changes in indirect tax laws and assess potential business impact.
. Prepare data and support the review of Federal, State, and foreign income tax returns.
. Partner with internal and external tax teams on the Company's income tax provision.
. Maintain the tax compliance calendar and ensure deadlines are met.
. Support tax-related accounting, including balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting.
. Assist with tax due diligence related to mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions.
. Partner with the North America Tax team of Numerator's parent company and external auditors as needed.
Skills & Requirements
Qualifications
. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or related field.
.10+ years of progressive tax experience, including significant U.S. indirect tax experience.
. Strong knowledge of sales and use tax, including nexus, taxability, exemptions, registrations, compliance, and audits.
. Working knowledge of U.S. Federal and State income tax and U.S. GAAP.
. Experience working with external tax advisors and tax technology solutions.
. Experience in a multinational environment strongly preferred.
. Prior leadership or people-management experience preferred.
. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
. CPA or other relevant tax designation.
. Public Accounting experience.
. Experience with indirect tax automation tools.
. Experience supporting M&A activity.
. Familiarity with IFRS and SOX compliance.
