Job Description

Reporting into the Group Head of Tax in Singapore this role will be managing the tax affairs for the Advance Intelligence Group (AIG) in the Philippines. This includes:

  • Managing and overseeing compliance with income tax and indirect tax obligations (including corporate income tax, indirect tax (such as GRT, VAT), withholding taxes) to ensure accurate and timely submission and payment.
  • Leading process/ automation enhancements to improve tax compliance processes
  • Managing tax controversies including disputes, audits and enquiries – this includes developing strategies to minimize exposure and negotiations with the BIR.
  • Providing tax advisory and implementation support on the Group's transactions and projects in the Philippines
  • Monitoring the development of tax legislation in the Philippines to evaluate the impact to the Group's business in the Philippines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA required
  • Minimum 8 years of tax experience with strong regional exposure, including advisory work, with a combination of Big 4 and in-house experience preferred
  • Ability to think and execute advice commercially, in fast paced environment (banking/ financial institution or fintech industry experience would be beneficial)
  • Hands-on experience managing in Direct, Indirect and WHT issues
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter and continuously taking initiative to support on ad-hoc and project based work, being able to have attention to detail but have an understanding of implications on operational and commercial aspects
  • Meticulous, independent, self-motivated, a creative thinker, and possess strong analytical skills
  • Strong stakeholder management and possess good interpersonal and communication skills
