Job title: Senior Tax Accountant / Tax Reviewer

Schedule: It can be 8AM to 5PM or 7AM to 4PM EST

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant / Tax Reviewer to serve as a technical leader within our growing firm to create a layer between Maria and Junior level staff. This individual will prepare and review tax returns, assist with complex tax matters, and act as a resource for junior team members.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both technical tax work and mentoring others. The right candidate will be able to independently handle complex returns while helping improve quality, efficiency, and scalability across the tax department.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Preparation & Review

• Prepare complex Individual (1040), Partnership (1065), S-Corporation (1120S), and Corporate (1120) tax returns
• Review tax returns and workpapers prepared by junior staff
• Review trial balances and financial statements
• Prepare and review adjusting journal entries
• Clear diagnostics and identify potential issues before final review
• Ensure compliance with firm quality standards and deadlines

Required Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of US public accounting tax experience
• Strong experience preparing and reviewing tax returns
• Experience with Individual, Partnership, S-Corp, and Corporate returns
• Ability to independently manage complex returns from start to finish
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
