Job Description

Position Title: Senior Tax Accountant

Schedule: 9:00AM-5:30PM (QLD time) / 7:00AM-3:30PM (PH time)

Holiday to follow: QLD Holidays

Workdays: Mon - Fri

Work Set-up: Work From Home or office.

Work Details: Full-time

Pay: 80,000.00 - 110,000.00 per month

Job Responsibilities

General reconciliation of client data.

Set up and completion of electronic work paper files

Reconciliation of accounts for financial statement preparations including but not limited to aged debtors, aged creditors, payroll, superannuation, GST, bank accounts.

Set up and enter new assets into Asset register with correct tax and accounting treatment and applicable rates.

Preparation and calculations of HPs schedules, FBT reimbursements and add backs.

Proficiency with GST Reconciliations include identifying past GST issues and making accurate adjustments via amended BAS as required.

Preparing franking accounts, non-distributable surplus calculations, inter-entity loan reconciliations and familiarity with dividend statements and Division 7A loan agreements.

Experience with preparing and dealing with complex individuals including CGT, rental properties, employee share schemes, personal services income and sound knowledge of related concepts.

Understanding of Division 7A, FBT, GST and CGT concepts and application of each with little assistance.

Competent at preparing sets of financial statements and income tax returns in Xero, including Xero mapping, beneficiary account journals for trust distributions, tax vs accounting reconciliation concepts, layout editing in Xero and completeness of both.

Payroll experience and knowledge in Xero/MYOB softwares including identifying wage and superannuation late/underpayments and ability to prepare ATO SGC statements as required

Experience with preparing accounts as well as tax planning for large groups (over $10m turnover) with multiple entities (i.e. companies, trusts, individuals, SMSF's) and being able to analyse the current group tax position and identify opportunities for tax improvement across the group.

Qualifications

Degree in Accounting, CPA, CA or similar professional qualifications

Software Experience preferred: Microsoft suite, Xero tax and xero bookkeeping, Myob AccountRight, Greatsoft, FYI, ATO Portal

Prior Experience

5+ years prior Australian taxation and business services accounting experience in a public practice or outsourced services to a public practice.
