Job Description

Work Arrangement: Full-time, Remote (Philippines)

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Salary: Starts from PHP 90,000/month

Role Overview

We're hiring a Senior Tax Accountant with strong Australian tax experience to handle end-to-end preparation of financial statements and tax returns for individuals, sole traders, partnerships, companies, and trusts. The role requires someone who can work independently, maintain organised workpapers, perform reconciliations, and confidently support client queries.

You'll collaborate directly with the onshore team but will be expected to manage most tasks with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Statement & Workpaper Preparation

  • Prepare financial statements from start to finish for sole traders, partnerships, companies, and trusts
  • Build complete workpaper files to support financial statements
  • Perform reconciliations and resolve discrepancies

2. Tax Compliance

  • Prepare tax returns for individuals, sole traders, partnerships, companies, and trusts
  • Complete income tax reconciliations
  • Assist in reviewing tax positions and ensuring compliance with Australian standards

3. Client Support & Communication

  • Respond to client queries and provide clarification on financial or tax-related matters
  • Communicate issues, risks, and assumptions when needed
  • Know when to escalate complex matters for review

Requirements

  • 46 years of Australian tax experience
  • Strong end-to-end preparation skills across all entity types
  • Experience preparing workpapers and tax reconciliations
  • Proficient in Xero and Xero Tax (required)

Soft Skills

  • High attention to detail
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable asking for guidance when needed
