The role
This role is for a commercially minded talent professional who thinks like a business owner, not just a recruiter. With a strong hunter mentality, they proactively identify talent, opportunities and future workforce needs before they arise. Curious, independent and action-oriented, they use talent intelligence and market insight to drive business growth, strengthen organisational capability, and create lasting impact.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment and Talent Market Ownership
- Proactively design and implement talent acquisition strategies aligned to DGS business priorities, workforce needs and growth ambitions.
- Bring a strong hunter mindset to sourcing: actively map the market, identify passive talent, build competitive intelligence, and create talent pools ahead of demand.
- Look beyond open requisitions by identifying potential future hiring needs, talent gaps and business opportunities across the broader dentsu group.
- Develop and maintain strong candidate pipelines for core and emerging roles, including market mapping, compensation insights and competitor intelligence.
- Use sourcing channels creatively and commercially, ensuring strategies are fit for purpose, targeted and responsive to business needs.
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from sourcing, screening and assessment through to offer, negotiation, requirements completion and onboarding.
- Actively engage with professional networks, industry events and market communities to expand DGS access to high-quality talent and business-relevant insights.
Business Partnership and Opportunity Identification
- Act as a true talent advisor to hiring managers and business leaders by providing data-led insights on talent availability, market trends, hiring feasibility and competitive positioning.
- Develop a deep understanding of DGS operating model, service lines, growth priorities and internal business landscape to anticipate hiring needs before they become urgent.
- Demonstrate curiosity and commercial awareness by asking thoughtful questions, identifying wider internal opportunities, and connecting talent solutions to business outcomes.
- Partner closely with stakeholders to uncover talent opportunities across teams, markets and functions.
- Build trusted relationships with hiring teams, HR business partners, service line leaders and executive stakeholders through clear communication, sound judgement and solution-oriented partnership.
- Challenge assumptions constructively and provide recommendations that balance speed, quality, cost, candidate experience and business impact.
Proactive Ownership and Independent Execution
- Operate with a high level of independence, taking ownership of priorities without waiting for detailed instructions.
- Lean in early when challenges, delays or gaps are identified, and proactively recommend practical solutions.
- Manage multiple requisitions and projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong candidate and stakeholder experience.
- Keep stakeholders informed with timely, clear and commercially relevant updates on pipeline health, candidate movement, hiring risks and recommended actions.
- Demonstrate strong judgement in prioritising work based on business urgency, candidate quality, stakeholder impact and revenue relevance.
- Escalate issues appropriately when needed, while taking accountability for driving progress and resolution.
Entrepreneurial and Growth Mindset
- Think and act like a business partner whose work directly contributes to DGS's growth, client delivery and organisational capability.
- Identify opportunities to improve recruitment processes, strengthen hiring outcomes and create scalable practices across markets or service lines.
- Bring curiosity, initiative and a continuous-improvement mindset to every stage of the recruitment process.
- Seek out new ways to increase talent access, improve speed to hire, unlock internal mobility and support business transformation.
- Treat each role as more than a vacancy to be filled — understanding how the hire contributes to business performance, team capability and future growth.
- Contribute ideas and insights that help TA move from reactive hiring support to proactive workforce and growth partnership.
Qualifications / Success Profile
- 6 to 10 years of experience in talent acquisition, ideally with exposure to global shared services business model, and previous work experience in a tech/niche recruitment agency.
- Strong end-to-end recruitment experience, with the ability to manage multiple roles and competing priorities independently.
- Brings a strong hunter mindset, with the ability to proactively identify talent, market opportunities and future hiring demand.
- Commercially minded and entrepreneurial, with a clear understanding of how talent acquisition contributes to business growth, revenue impact and organisational capability.
- Naturally curious, inquisitive and independent; able to lean in, ask the right questions, challenge assumptions and move work forward without waiting for instructions.
- Proactive and solutions-oriented, with the confidence to partner with stakeholders, anticipate needs and recommend practical talent strategies aligned to business priorities.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to advise, influence and build credibility with senior hiring leaders.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Highly organised, resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Experience using Workday or similar ATS platforms would be an advantage.
