Modular Engineers Pty Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our growing remote team. This role involves leading structural design projects from concept to completion while collaborating with a multidisciplinary in-house team.

This is a remote-based role operating on AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time), ideal for professionals with a strong understanding of Australian Standards and residential/commercial structural projects.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for candidates who bring deep technical expertise and are eager to contribute to a growing team. Experience with Australian engineering codes (e.g., (AS 3600, AS 2870, AS 4100, AS 1684, NCC) or working with Australian companies is strongly preferred.

If you are a seasoned Senior Structural Engineer, this is an excellent opportunity to work with a flexible, collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform structural design and analysis for residential and commercial projects, specifically design of RC slabs, beams, columns, footings, retaining walls, and steel structures
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant Australian Standards and local codes
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and stakeholders to develop efficient, cost-effective design solutions
  • Review and prepare engineering drawings, reports, specifications, calculations, markups, and draft documentation
  • Participate in client and internal meetings, effectively communicating technical ideas and project progress
  • Coordinate with our local Sydney-based team

Ideal Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of structural engineering experience, preferably including work with Australian firms and projects
  • Proficiency in RAPT, SpaceGass, AutoCAD, Revit and Wall-Up
  • Expert in designing and detailing steel, concrete, timber, and masonry structures
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Clear and professional communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently
  • Understanding of stormwater design is a plus

Software & Tools (Preferred but Not Mandatory)

  • Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu For drafting, markups, and formwork detailing
  • FTG, SLB, RCC, RCB Structural element and footing design tools
  • SAFE, SAP2000, ETABS, SpaceGass Structural frame and slab analysis
  • Excel (custom spreadsheets) Beam checks, soil pressure, foundation design
  • Monday.com, SharePoint, Dropbox Project tracking and file management
