Hive Modular designs and manufactures steel-frame volumetric buildings in our factory in Silang, Cavite. We build premium prefab homes and hospitality structures for the Philippine market and are scaling exports to the US and the Indo-Pacific. Our modules are engineered for standard intermodal shipping and fast on-site assembly. Joining Hive means owning the structural engineering behind products built to ship at scale.

Role Description

The Senior Structural Engineer (contract) leads structural design and analysis for our steel-frame modular buildings. Day-to-day work includes steel member and connection design, performing structural calculations, reviewing and validating design assumptions, and conducting detailed analysis to ensure safety, durability, and code compliance. The role involves preparing and reviewing engineering drawings and models, coordinating with architects, designers, and project managers, and providing technical guidance to the team. This is a hybrid role based in Silang, with on-site collaboration plus work-from-home flexibility for design, documentation, and review. The engineer will also help refine standards, support permit and regulatory documentation, and improve Hive Modular's structural design practices. This is an immediate-start contract.

Qualifications
• Demonstrated, hands-on experience with structural steel design and fabrication. This is a steel role. It is not suited to engineers whose background is primarily concrete or general ci
vil work.
• Direct experience working for or alongside a steel fabricator is required: shop drawings, connection design, weld and bolt detailing, and fabrication tolerances.
• Residential construction experience is a strong plus.
• Proficiency in steel structural analysis: load assessment, member sizing, connection design, and verification of structural performance.
• Skilled in CAD tools for creating, reviewing, and modifying structural plans and details.
• Ability to interpret and apply relevant building codes and standards, and prepare engineering documentation for permitting.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil, Structurall, or a closely related field. Licensure and ability to sign structural plans in the Philippines is a must have; licensure in the US is an asset.
• Experience leading projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and mentoring junior engineers or designers.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety.
• Able to work effectively in a hybrid setup in Silang, managing both on-site and remote tasks.
