Bloomberg Tax is Looking for:

Bloomberg Tax Provision - Senior Software Engineer

Own complex application design, development, integration, delivery, and support for Bloomberg Tax

Provision. Work as a self-directed technical professional who influences the team's use of new and existing

technologies to achieve business goals, with deep expertise in at least one area and a strong understanding of

the wider system.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and deliver high-quality code by promoting and designing INDG engineering best practices. Solve complex problems creatively and promptly.
• Serve as the team's expert in at least one technical area and maintain strong working knowledge of the system's broader architecture.
• Guide feature design and implementation for the entire team and deliver solutions for cross-team initiatives.
• Influence the diagnosis, resolution, and monitoring of systems and platforms. Identify the team's key problems and adopt effective technical solutions.
• Develop scalable, highly available, high-performance products. Participate in cross-business technical reviews, special projects, and other duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

• Related bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with a sustained record of building commercial applications using modern software engineering practices, including features owned from design through production support.
• Strong TypeScript / JavaScript with Node 18+ across APIs, Lambda functions, business logic, and tooling. Proficiency with React 18, including hooks, context, and query management.
• Experience with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, ECS, and RDS / PostgreSQL, plus infrastructure as code using Terraform and/or AWS SAM.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD or equivalent, including automated testing and security scanning.
• Hands-on, productive use of AI coding assistants such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or equivalent in a large codebase spanning multiple repositories, including context management, prompt engineering, and critical evaluation of generated output.
• Experience delivering production work efficiently, owning large deliverables independently and collaboratively, and reducing complexity in projects, services, and processes.
• A record of technical influence and thought leadership throughout the software development life cycle in distributed Agile / Scrum and DevSecOps teams.
• Strong working experience with AWS, serverless and event-driven architecture, service-oriented architecture, microservices, microfrontends, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
