We are looking for a skilled Senior Software Engineer / Backend Developer (Ruby on Rails) to design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems. The role requires strong hands-on experience in Ruby on Rails, AWS, and modern DevOps practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust Ruby on Rails applications
- Build and consume RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices
- Optimize application performance and troubleshoot production issues
- Collaborate closely with product, QA, and other engineering teams
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to technical decisions
Technical Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails
- Solid knowledge of AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC, etc.)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Proficient in PostgreSQL or MySQL and strong SQL fundamentals
- Experience with Docker and containerized deployments
- Good understanding of backend architecture and API design
Nice to Have
- Exposure to Kubernetes / EKS
- Experience with frontend frameworks (React, Vue, etc.)
- Knowledge of message queues (SQS, SNS, Kafka)
Experience & Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Comfortable working in Agile, cross-functional teams
Work Arrangement
- Hybrid setup: 12 days onsite per week
- Morning shift: 6:00 AM 3:00 PM
- Office location: BGC, Taguig
