Senior Software Engineer

SDE III – Backend | Java / Node.js

Location: Delhi NCR | Hybrid

About the Role

We are looking for an SDE III – Backend to build scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems at Baazi Games. This is a hands-on engineering role involving system design, architecture, production development, and technical ownership.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and/or Node.js.
• Own backend components end-to-end — from design and development to deployment, monitoring, and production support.
• Design and build REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven systems.
• Drive system design, LLD, scalability, performance, and reliability for critical services.
• Work with databases such as MySQL/PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Work with messaging/event-streaming technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, production issues, and technical debt.
• Contribute to architecture and code reviews and establish engineering best practices.
• Collaborate closely with Product, QA, DevOps, and other engineering teams.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and contribute to technical decision-making.

What We're Looking For

• 5–8 years of strong backend development experience.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Java or Node.js.
• Good understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, OOP, Design Patterns, and System Design.
• Strong experience with REST APIs, Microservices, and distributed systems.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and database optimisation.
• Good understanding of caching, asynchronous processing, and messaging systems.
• Experience working with AWS/cloud environments, Docker, and CI/CD.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and performance optimisation skills.
• Experience owning production systems and working in high-scale environments.
• Strong communication, ownership, and mentoring skills.

Good to Have

• Experience with gaming, fintech, payments, or high-transaction consumer products.
• Experience with Kubernetes, observability/monitoring, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience handling high-throughput, low-latency systems.

The emphasis on end-to-end ownership, scalable distributed systems, LLD, production operations, and mentoring is consistent with current SDE III backend role expectations in the market.
