About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll help design, develop and evolve the core software that powers Atmail's commercial messaging platform.

Working alongside experienced engineers, QA specialists and platform engineers, you'll contribute across the full software development lifecycle—from architecture and implementation through to deployment, optimisation and operational support.

You'll be trusted to own your work, contribute ideas, challenge assumptions and help raise the engineering standard across the team.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, develop and enhance scalable software solutions
• Build reliable, secure and maintainable code
• Investigate complex production issues and perform root cause analysis
• Contribute to architecture and technical design discussions
• Collaborate closely with Platform Engineering, QA and Product teams
• Participate in planning, code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
• Improve platform performance, reliability, security and scalability
• Participate in an on-call rotation when required
• Help shape engineering practices and contribute to technical excellence across the team

About You

You'll be an experienced software engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems and continuously improving both systems and engineering practices.

You'll bring:

• Extensive commercial software engineering experience
• Strong programming skills in technologies such as Go, Python, PHP, React, C/C++ or similar
• Experience building and supporting scalable commercial SaaS applications
• Practical experience using AI coding assistants and modern AI engineering tools
• Strong understanding of software architecture and distributed systems
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Experience working within Agile engineering environments
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline
