We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Software Developer to join our engineering team at MLhuillier Financial Services, Inc. and help us build the next generation of AI-enabled applications and development workflows.
This role is ideal for an engineer with strong full-stack expertise, modern development practices, and hands-on experience with AI-assisted software development tools.
Core Technical Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of professional software development experience
- Advanced JavaScript and TypeScript expertise across frontend and backend development
- Strong experience with React.js and Next.js, including modern rendering strategies and state management
- Proven experience building scalable backend applications using Node.js and NestJS
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, GraphQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL
- Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure/platforms
AI-Native Development Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar tools
- Ability to translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications for AI-assisted development
- Strong code review skills, including validation of AI-generated code for security, scalability, maintainability, and performance
- Expertise in prompt engineering and providing effective context to AI tools for accurate code generation
- Experience designing, implementing, or maintaining agent-driven development workflows and internal productivity tools
- Ability to leverage AI to accelerate software delivery while maintaining high engineering standards
Key Responsibilities to List
- System Architecture: Lead the design and planning of full-stack applications before implementation begins.
- Quality Assurance: Act as the final gatekeeper for code quality, ensuring AI-assisted output meets enterprise standards.
- Technical Leadership: Mentor junior developers on best practices for integrating AI into their daily workflows safely.
- Performance Optimization: Must know how to identify and resolve bottlenecks in both the application and the AI-assisted pipeline.
