Job Description
The Lead Salesforce Developer will own the design, development, and optimization of scalable Salesforce solutions while providing technical leadership to the development team. This role is responsible for translating complex business requirements into high-performing technical architecture, building custom functionality using Apex, Lightning Components, and declarative tools, and ensuring system performance, data integrity, and security best practices. The Lead Salesforce Developer will mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, oversee deployments, and resolve complex issues related to integrations, performance, and automation. This position also plays a strategic role in roadmap planning, evaluating new Salesforce features, managing integrations and data migrations, maintaining technical documentation, and continuously improving system efficiency, user experience, and long-term platform scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business requirements and design scalable Salesforce solutions
- Develop custom functionality and configure declarative tools for automation
- Optimize system performance through efficient coding and configuration practices
- Assess existing Salesforce architecture and recommend improvements to layouts, record types, security settings, and sharing rules
- Enhance data model design to support new features and long term scalability
- Mentor junior developers and guide development best practices
- Conduct code reviews to ensure quality, maintainability, and compliance with standards
- Plan, manage, and oversee Salesforce deployments and releases
- Investigate and resolve complex Apex code, integration issues, and performance bottlenecks
- Collaborate with Level 1 and Level 2 support teams for escalated cases and root cause analysis
- Review requirements and provide technical guidance during backlog grooming sessions
- Translate business needs into user stories with acceptance criteria for Agile sprints
- Participate in roadmap planning and provide technical insight for future releases
- Evaluate new Salesforce features and recommend adoption strategies
- Design and implement integrations using REST and SOAP APIs and middleware tools
- Manage data migration activities and enforce data governance policies
- Create and maintain technical documentation for customizations, integrations, workflows, and deployment processes
- Stay current on Salesforce releases and emerging technologies and assess platform impact
- Identify recurring issues and convert them into enhancement initiatives that improve system stability and user experience
Qualifications
- Proven experience in Salesforce development using Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning Components
- Strong understanding of Salesforce configuration, automation, and declarative tools
- Experience assessing and optimizing system architecture including data models, security, and sharing structures
- Demonstrated ability to mentor developers, lead technical initiatives, and conduct formal code reviews
- Strong experience designing and supporting integrations using REST and SOAP APIs and middleware solutions
- Ability to analyze complex requirements and deliver scalable, high performance solutions
- Experience with deployments, release management, and environment governance
- Comfort working in Agile environments including backlog grooming, user story creation, and sprint delivery
- Strong problem solving skills, technical documentation ability, and attention to detail
