Job Description

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Senior / Quantity Surveyor to manage the full spectrum of quantity surveying and contract administration activities for large-scale civil construction projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in cost management, tendering, claims administration, and client and consultant liaison to support the successful commercial delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out detailed quantity take-offs and prepare accurate cost estimations to support project budgeting and tender submissions

  • Prepare and compile tender and quotation documents for submission, and manage follow-up activities including tender clarifications and interview coordination

  • Source, liaise with, and negotiate favourable terms with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive and value-driven procurement outcomes

  • Prepare, submit, and resolve progress claims, variation orders, and final accounts in a timely and accurate manner

  • Evaluate and certify subcontractors progress claims, variation orders, and final accounts in accordance with contract terms and project requirements

  • Attend site meetings regularly to capture and document all potential variation claims, prepare interim valuations, and identify emerging variation works for commercial assessment

  • Liaise with clients and consultants on all contractual and commercial matters, maintaining professional and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle

  • Undertake any other duties or related tasks as assigned by the QS Manager or senior management

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, or Professional Degree in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution

  • Relevant experience in quantity surveying and contract administration within the local construction industry is preferred

  • Prior exposure to large-scale civil construction projects will be an added advantage

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint basic knowledge of AutoCAD is an advantage

  • Sound knowledge of quantity measurement, cost estimation, tender preparation, and contract administration practices

  • Experienced in the preparation and evaluation of progress claims, variation orders, and final accounts

  • Familiar with local construction contracts, procurement processes, and industry standards

  • Meticulous and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of accuracy in cost and contract documentation

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively as part of a team
