Key Responsibilities
- Write and execute test cases primarily for backend systems (APIs, databases, data pipelines).
- Perform manual and automated API testing and data validation.
- Maintain and extend our existing Python-based regression test suite.
- Conduct negative testing, stress/load testing, and performance validation.
- Review requirements and technical documents to ensure completeness and testability.
- Work with product managers and developers to clarify ambiguous requirements.
- Assist in post-deployment forensics and root cause analysis.
Required Skills
- 24+ years of QA or software engineering experience in a backend-focused environment.
- Proficiency in Python ability to read, write, and maintain automation scripts.
- Solid experience testing REST APIs using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar.
- Familiarity with SQL for data validation and basic queries.
- Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Locust, or custom Python scripts).
- Strong attention to detail and methodical testing practices.
- Ability to read and understand product/engineering requirements for validation.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in an AWS environment.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and how test automation integrates into them.
- Exposure to monitoring/logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog, ELK).
- Understanding of data pipelines or ETL testing.
