Essential Job Responsibilities
Test Design, Execution, and Analysis
- Lead the design, development, and execution of detailed test cases across multiple levels of complexity, including functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Translate business and system requirements into robust test designs that ensure accuracy, completeness, and traceability.
- Develop and maintain test documentation, (such as test plans, test scripts, and test reports) adhering to QA best practices.
- Perform both manual and automated testing using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
- Ensure defect-free releases through comprehensive testing, risk identification, and early issue detection. Quality Leadership and Collaboration
- Participate actively in requirement and design review sessions for new implementations, upgrades, and knowledge platform (KP) upsells.
- Act as a direct and reliable partner to Payment Accuracy Advisors (PAA), Business Analysts (BA), Service Operations (SIOps), and Engagement Managers (EM), with a particular focus on ensuring that requirements are thoroughly understood, documented, and validated. Strive to prevent unnecessary challenges by promoting comprehensive and accurate requirements gathering and test coverage. Identify potential risks, ambiguities, and inconsistencies in requirements or test coverage early in the development cycle.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior QA Analysts to promote consistent testing standards and quality practices. Serve as a subject matter expert for special projects and initiatives, leveraging exposure and acclimation with assigned customers to provide targeted QA insights and solutions.
- Model the discipline of full-cycle accountability ensuring that each test activity, review outcome, and defect resolution maintains visibility and alignment until the final outcome is verified and communicated internally. Apply strong critical thinking to analyze each customer's business functions, including the rationale for exclusions and inclusions in requirements and test coverage. Tailor QA strategies and test designs to the unique operational context of each client.
- Ensure seamless 100% PTO coverage by proactively documenting QA processes, customer-specific requirements, and project status. Collaborate with designated backup QA resources to bring them up to speed, enabling uninterrupted support for customer needs during scheduled absences.
Defect Management and Troubleshooting
- Lead defect triage and root cause analysis efforts, reproducing defects, isolating variables, and ensuring accurate documentation for efficient resolution.
- Escalate recurring issues and provide recommendations for process or system improvements.
- Evaluate and verify defect fixes, conducting retests and regression tests to validate quality before release.
- Maintain a structured approach to discovery and resolution, so that every identified defect is analyzed, tracked, and confirmed as resolved before closure. Documentation of context, actions, and results must remain visible to relevant stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement and Best Practices
- Drive QA process improvements, contributing to the development of reusable templates, frameworks, and automation enhancements.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in claims adjudication and healthcare IT. Regularly assess how emerging developments may impact QA processes and customer deliverables, sharing insights with the team and clients
- Document lessons learned and establish repeatable testing practices to reduce defect recurrence.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, precision, and proactive quality assurance across the organization.
- Ensure transparency and traceability throughout QA processes, promoting clear communication loops among testing, development, and Customer Success teams to maintain alignment, accountability, and confidence in deliverables.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 3+ years of Software Quality Assurance experience in both manual and automated testing.
- Strong background in functional, regression, performance, and integration testing.
- Solid understanding of QA processes, standards, and best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Experience working in environments running on Windows with Oracle or other transactional databases.
- Proficient in XML, HTML, JavaScript, VB, C#, and Python scripting.
- Knowledge of healthcare IT systems or claims processing preferred
- Hands-on experience with QA automation tools such as Selenium, Postman, or SoapUI.
- Skilled in creating and maintaining test environments and configurations
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Proficient in SQL Developer, Excel, and defect tracking systems such as Jira or ALM.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as ISTQB, CAST, or AWS Cloud Practitioner.
- Experience in the Healthcare IT or claims processing industry.
