About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Property Accountant with hands-on Entrata property management software experience to join our team. This is a critical, senior-level role requiring a candidate who can step in on day one, operate independently, and immediately contribute to ongoing accounting operations without extensive training.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in multi-property accounting, deep knowledge of property management accounting workflows, and proven experience managing month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting within Entrata.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of residential and/or commercial properties
  • Perform month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements, variance analyses, and supporting schedules
  • Handle bank reconciliations, escrow accounts, and intercompany transactions
  • Manage accounts payable and review accounts receivable as needed
  • Ensure accurate posting of rent, CAM, utilities, and other property-related transactions
  • Maintain general ledger integrity and resolve discrepancies efficiently
  • Support audits, year-end close, and tax-related requests
  • Collaborate with property management and operations teams to ensure financial accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting controls
  • Identify process improvements and best practices within Entrata workflows

Required Qualifications (Must-Have)

  • 5+ years of property accounting experience
  • Hands-on experience using Entrata (required not trainable)
  • Strong experience with multi-entity and multi-property accounting
  • Proven ability to manage month-end close independently
  • Deep understanding of property accounting principles (accruals, prepaid expenses, reserves, CAM, etc.)
  • Strong reconciliation skills with high attention to detail
  • Experience preparing financial statements and management reports
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with residential, commercial, or mixed-use property portfolios
  • Exposure to audit preparation and year-end close processes
  • Experience working with remote or distributed teams
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations)
