Job Description

ABOUT SIOUX

Founded in 1996 in the Netherlands, Sioux Technologies has grown into a global high-tech solutions partner with over 1,300 engineers across 11 offices in Europe and Asia, including the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Romania, China, Vietnam, Singapore, and India. As one of the largest privately-owned tech companies in the Netherlands, we partner with world-leading companies in semiconductor, analytical, medical, and mobility to build complex systems at the frontier of what is technically possible.

Our strength is the unique combination of competences we bring under one roof: software, mechatronics, mathware, electronics, physics & optics, mechanics, and assembly. Whether it is semiconductor inspection equipment, analytical instruments, or life-saving medical devices — we bring high-tech to life.

THE ROLE

You own multiple concurrent projects for semiconductor capital equipment, analytical instrumentation, and medical device manufacturers across Southeast Asia. You lead from initial customer engagement through project delivery, building long-term business pipelines and account growth. You are end-responsible for project budget, timeline, scope, technology choices, and quality. You build and develop high-performing engineering teams while maintaining direct customer relationships and technical credibility.

In Sioux Asia's tribe operating model, this role also serves as the tribe's Excellence Lead — the tribe's main process owner and delivery-health owner, holding a seat on the Tribe Council. Operational excellence is core to the role: you define and audit how the tribe works, keep fixed-price delivery on track, and make sure decisions made in tribe meetings are actually followed through.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct project and technical scoping, and work breakdown structure definition with System Architects and Sales.
  • Create project budgets, resource plans, and timelines; track actuals against baseline and communicate variance to leadership and customer.
  • Define project and system requirements, boundary conditions, and (technical) scope in alignment with customer needs and Sioux delivery capability.
  • Lead periodic customer reviews, escalation management, and relationship stewardship to ensure satisfaction and identify upsell opportunities.
  • Mentor and hold accountable engineering teams (software, mechatronics, electronics) against project KPI's.
  • Own quality gate reviews, design validation, and delivery risk mitigation; partner with Quality and System Architects on technical trade-offs.

As Tribe Excellence Lead:

  • Define, document, and maintain the tribe's project management process (on-boarding, planning, tracking, reporting, risk and change management) and engineering process (requirements, version control, code review, testing, release).
  • Own and drive the tribe's Continuous Improvement Program end to end — set improvement priorities based on process audit data and team feedback, and feed tribe-level learnings into Sioux Asia-wide process improvements.
  • Monitor project health (schedule, budget, scope) across the tribe and flag risks early to the Commercial Lead and Tribal Entrepreneur; co-own the Change Request process with the Commercial Lead, assessing impact and preparing CRs for approval.
  • Identify and remove bottlenecks in the tribe's development lifecycle, and drive automation of repetitive operational work with IT.
  • Organize and moderate tribe-level meetings (Tribe Council Check-in, Tribe Stand-up, Project Review) — set agendas, record decisions, and track action items to closure.
  • Design and maintain information radiators (dashboards, shared notes, team channels) so information flows transparently across the tribe.
  • Act as the tribe's main point of contact for process-related questions and operational friction points.

Qualifications

  • Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation or related science discipline.
  • At least 8+ years managing complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects in semiconductor equipment, analytical instruments, or precision machinery.
  • Demonstrated ability to build customer relationships, negotiate scope and timelines, and drive account pipeline growth.
  • Hands-on experience with budgeting, resource planning, and earned value tracking in high-tech project environments.
  • Fluency in translating technical requirements into project schedules and cross-functional work plans.
  • Ability to mentor and develop engineering teams and hold them accountable to delivery commitments.
  • Proficiency with project management tools and standards (e.g., Gantt, Critical Path, Stage-Gate, or Agile for hardware).
  • Comfortable owning process and delivery health beyond your own project — defining, auditing, and continuously improving how a broader team works, not just how one project runs.
  • Experience with semiconductor capital equipment, wafer processing tools, or metrology systems is a great plus.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering processes (e.g., INCOSE, V-model) and design review conduct (PDR, CDR).
  • Experience running structured governance or steering forums (steering committees, PMO reviews, continuous-improvement programs).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Agile/Scrum certifications are heavily preferred.
  • Proficient in English (both spoken and written).
