Job Description

Responsibilities:

Project Operations

1. Assist with the preparation of the G&T, Pacific annual budgets, and quarterly forecast.

2. Monitor actuals vs target and contribute to the sub-sector meeting its monthly and annual targets.

3. Assist with preparation of annual, monthly operations and bi-weekly status reports for the sub-sector.

4. Manage the G&T SEAP Projects accountants and ensure that the team's tasks, deliverables, and targets are met, if required.

5. Adhere strictly to SMEC's Business Management System (BMS), Quality Management Systems (QMS) and OH&S procedures.

6. Ensure that corporate reviews, approvals, and compliance requirements are met and complied with.

7. Any other relevant duties as assigned.

Project Control & Management:

1. Assist G&T in ensuring G&T project win and delivery activities.

2. Oversight support in management and project implementation, specifically monitoring the financial health of projects vis a vis contract and budget and provide timely actions as issues arise.

3. Ensure WIP and Debtors are kept at minimum, closely working with country leads, project coordinators, project managers and client, providing necessary actions and resolution for issues encountered.

4. Provide inputs to the PPR and flash reports in coordination with the operations manager, finance team, project coordinators and project managers

5. Ensure Epicor project plans are up to date

6. Ensure that Project compliance requirements are in place (Approvals, PMP, PDS, Risk Management, Project Workspace, Supplier Registration, Due Diligence etc.),

7. Ensure contractual obligations are met.

8. All accounting, reporting and financial business support services related to the SMEC operations across G&T SEA & Pacific.

9. Hold accountability of the integrity of accounting transactional data, adequacy of entity business controls and conformance to corporate, internal and external policies.

Qualifications:

  • Preferably a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Management or in similar field from an accredited university/college
  • With at least 5-7 years solid working experience in Finance/Accounting.
  • Ability to write effectively to furnish reports and to prepare business development materials including proposals.
  • Experience in a Shared Services or BPO environment, an advantage.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software or financial reporting software is a plus.
  • Candidate should have sound Finance and Accounting skills, including knowledge of best practices on any or all areas of accounting such as AR, AP, Cash, and Reconciliation.
  • Can work with minimal supervision and has a leadership potential.
  • Ability to cope with ambiguity and change and maintain high level of professionalism when working under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills within a multi-cultural business environment.
  • Project Management and hands-on experience, encompassing administrative, commercial and technical aspects, in delivering within project-based budgets and timelines.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a culturally diverse and multi-disciplinary environment,
  • Sound knowledge of Quality Assurance (QA).
  • High level communication skills.
