The
Senior Product Governance Manager will lead the development of new products and reviews of existing products. They are responsible for implementing, managing and refining the company's approach to product governance. They also lead in assisting in building and managing key relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure understanding of the Product Governance function and the required support for and adherence to all relevant policies and procedures. Moreover, this role creates and maintains retiring financial products in a way that ensures the customer receives a product that is appropriate for their immediate and future financial goals.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Lead the development of new products and reviews of existing products, working together with other teams including the Investment Team, Investment Operations Team, Finance, Marketing, Distribution, Compliance and Risk teams
- Lead all product governance activities, including implementation of the company product governance policy which covers how the business designs, approves, markets and manages products throughout the product lifecycle
- Responsible for ensuring that all key teams are aware of the company product governance policy and processes, including providing training and support on the requirements
- Work closely with key stakeholders to develop product governance Management Information to feed into new product development and product reviews, including identifying and refining metrics to monitor: whether sales are being made to target markets, whether distribution strategy remains appropriate, and whether product or services are delivering appropriate customer outcomes
- Responsible for following the agreed product governance processes, including documenting key activities using the agreed product governance templates
- Producing a quarterly product governance report for the Product Governance Committee covering: any regulatory, legal and tax developments which impact product governance (including identifying any crucial events which may merit action) and an inventory of products and services (including scheduling periodic reviews)
- Manage the quarterly Product Governance Committee, including setting the agenda with the chair of the Committee, collating papers from attendees and taking the minutes
- Leading a periodic review of the product governance policy, terms of reference for the Product Governance Committee and product governance templates
- Be aware of the business practices and processes associated with the role, and act in a manner that takes account of regulatory and operational risk considerations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field; MBA is an advantage
- At least 3–5 years experience in Credit Cards and/or Loans within the banking/financial services industry
- Strong understanding of retail lending products, credit lifecycle, and regulatory environment
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and drive complex initiatives
- Solid project management skills from planning, execution, and governance tracking
- Experience in process design, improvement, and optimization
