Job Purpose

This position is responsible for execution of key improvement programs to improve product quality, prevent customer complaints, increase overall process yield, generate systems and procedure, and perform qualification of new process, material and equipment.

Principal Accountabilities

  • PROCESS YIELD IMPROVEMENT (To improve process yield, monitor and identify opportunities to reduce scrappage and define appropriate improvement actions)
  • Manages daily issues and defines actions that prevent recurrence
  • Provides technical support to Production in the analysis and disposition of non-conforming lots and equipment, whenever necessary
  • Plans and execute MSA requirements to capture yield hitters
  • PROCESS IMPROVEMENT (To introduce better processes and/or support short lead time to market products to customers; to support business objectives on cost and manufacturing excellence)
  • Generates qualification reports of new equipment model and process through Process Change Requisition/Process Change Approval, FCCP codification in IEDB
  • Provides support during new product introduction or line stressing, prototyping and other engineering evaluations
  • Participates in improvement teams and contributes recommendations for company-wide enhancements to quality, productivity and process
  • CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS (To ensure zero recurrence of customer complaints)
  • Analyzes customer complaints using Eight Discipline (8D) Problem Solving methodology
  • Performs mechanical simulations, evaluations and investigations in identifying the root cause of issues
  • Defines corrective and preventive action following the discipline of error proofing
  • PROCESS DOCUMENTATION (To promote product quality. simplify the operation, and comply with specific customer or corporate requirements)
  • Generates and conducts regular review of manufacturing instructions
  • Defines key process parameters and control plan
  • Identifies opportunities to simplify/improve process and prepares enhancements
  • METHODS & MATERIALS QUALIFICATION (To ensure compliance to STMicroelectronics, Inc. process & product requirements; To improve productivity and applications)
  • Develops new process methods and materials within STMicroelectronics, Inc. standards
  • Studies new opportunities to continuously improve existing packing method and materials
  • PEOPLE MANAGEMENT (To develop a highly effective and capable workforce)
  • Plans and lead the day-to-day activities of Process Engineering team
  • PROCESS ENGINEERING & MANUFACTURING REPORTS (To provide management with regular updates of STM quality performance; To ensure full system utilization for process capability and product quality improvements)
  • Generates appropriate reports on process control data
  • Leads creation of improvement plans when results are below target
  • SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT, SECURITY, AND GOOD HOUSEKEEPING (To ensure applicable rules and regulations are understood and implemented)
  • Disseminates, explains and ensures adherence to rules and regulations on safety, health, environment, good housekeeping, and security in the area of responsibility to ensure that applicable rules and regulations are understood and implemented

Education

  • With a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics Engineering

Experience

  • With at least five (7) years technical and supervisory experience handling Process Engineering tasks in a similar environment
  • Knowledgeable & with a strong background in Manufacturing Pre-Assembly / Assembly Process (Pre Assy, FOL, EOL)

Skills/Knowledge

  • Must demonstrate skills in problem solving tools, Statistical Process Control, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, Eight Discipline (8D)
  • Must demonstrate skills in quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Must be familiar with Semiconductor manufacturing, production operations, engineering evaluations, product and process simplification
  • Must have proven skills in effective demonstrate effective supervision
  • Moderate knowledge in statistical analysis, FMEA, QC Tools, DOE, SPC & MSA as guide for process decisions

Business Understanding

  • Familiarity with the semiconductor industry
