Role Summary:
The Performance Testing Senior Engineer leads performance engineering efforts to ensure system scalability, reliability, and stability under varying load conditions. This role is responsible for planning, executing, and analyzing performance tests for complex, enterprise‑level systems and providing actionable optimization and tuning recommendations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, plan, and execute performance testing activities including:
- Load Testing
- Stress Testing
- Spike Testing
- Endurance / Soak Testing
- Scalability Testing
- Volume and Concurrency Testing
- Establish and maintain performance baselines, benchmarks, and success criteria
- Prepare, maintain, and enhance performance test scripts using JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar tools
- Monitor system and application metrics including CPU, memory, network, and database usage
- Analyze logs, dashboards, and monitoring tools to identify performance bottlenecks
- Perform root cause analysis and recommend performance improvements and tuning actions
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to resolve performance issues
- Produce detailed performance reports highlighting findings, risks, and recommendations
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in performance testing or performance engineering
- Strong hands‑on experience using JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar tools
- Solid understanding of system architecture, APIs, and databases
- Proven ability to analyze CPU, memory, network, and database bottlenecks
- Experience testing cloud‑based and/or distributed systems
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and reporting skills
- Ability to clearly communicate performance results to technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Nice to Have:
- Experience with APM tools (e.g., Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic)
- Exposure to CI/CD and performance testing integration
- Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments
- Background in large‑scale or mission‑critical enterprise systems
