Role Overview

The Senior Manager Payroll is responsible for leading end-to-end payroll operations for Manila-based employees, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing. This role provides strategic oversight, strengthens governance and controls, and drives continuous improvement across payroll systems, processes, and team capability.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Operations

Lead end-to-end payroll processing with a strong focus on accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.

Own payroll calendars, cut-off schedules, final pay processing, and off-cycle runs.

Review and validate payroll outputs, reconciliations, and variance analyses.

Ensure accurate computation of salaries, incentives, bonuses, overtime, and statutory deductions.

Statutory Compliance & Governance

Ensure accurate and timely remittance of SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and BIR contributions.

Oversee tax filings, annualization, and year-end reporting including BIR Form 2316.

Maintain full compliance with Philippine labor, tax, and statutory regulations.

Prepare payroll documentation and support internal and external audit requirements.

Process Improvement & Systems

Drive payroll system enhancements, automation initiatives, and process standardization.

Establish and maintain strong payroll controls, SOPs, and governance frameworks.

Ensure payroll data integrity, security, and confidentiality.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

Lead, coach, and develop the payroll team, promoting high performance and accountability.

Partner closely with HR, Finance, and senior leadership on payroll reporting, forecasting, and cost analysis.

Manage escalations, resolve complex payroll concerns, and provide expert guidance on payroll matters.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.

810 years of progressive payroll experience, with at least 35 years in a managerial or senior leadership role.

Strong working knowledge of Philippine taxation, statutory contributions, and labor regulations.

Proven experience managing payroll for large employee populations, ideally within BPO or shared services environments.

Experience handling payroll for 2,500+ employees is a strong advantage.

High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and sound judgment.

Demonstrated integrity, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information.
