Senior Oracle Forms & Reports Consultant (Upgrade & Reengineering)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oracle Forms & Reports Consultant with 4 to 6 years of experience to lead a critical system upgrade and reengineering project. In this role, you will be responsible for migrating legacy Oracle Forms & Reports 6i environments up to the latest Oracle 14c infrastructure, as well as modernizing the reporting layer using Oracle Analytics Publisher (OAP) on Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC).

This is a high-visibility, hands-on technical role requiring strong expertise in Oracle infrastructure, database connectivity, and report reengineering.

Core Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• 1. Environment Setup & Upgrades
• Phase 1 Upgrade: Install Oracle Forms & Reports 12c in a test environment on Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) from the legacy 6i baseline; reconcile and validate the installation.
• Phase 2 Upgrade: Perform the subsequent upgrade and reconciliation of Oracle Forms & Reports from 12c to 14c (latest available version) within the test environment, ensuring all components are thoroughly validated.
• Modernization Setup: Install the latest version of Oracle Analytics Publisher (OAP) in the test environment and configure its integration with Oracle 19c on ExaCC.
• Validation: Verify full connectivity, licensing adherence, and DB connectivity for the OFR 14c + OAP stack, and document the baseline architecture.
• 2. Report Re-engineering & Development
• Migration to OAP: Re-engineer and develop legacy Oracle Reports 6i formats into Oracle Analytics Publisher formats.
• Template & Model Creation: Build robust data models, design RTF/XSL templates, and configure layouts within OAP.
• Validation: Conduct strict testing to validate that all newly engineered OAP report outputs exactly match the legacy originals.
• 3. Testing, Debugging & Documentation
• Execute a full recompilation of all upgraded Forms and re-engineered Reports.
• Conduct rigorous unit testing for each component, documenting all test results comprehensively.
• Investigate, debug, and resolve all compilation errors and functional defects discovered during testing.
• Re-test resolved issues and drive the process to obtain official technical sign-off.
  
  

Candidate Profile & Qualifications

Technical Skills (Must Have)

• Oracle Forms & Reports: Strong expertise in versions 6i and 12c (experience with 14c is a major plus).
• Reporting Tools: Proven hands-on experience re-engineering reports into Oracle Analytics Publisher (OAP) or BI Publisher, including RTF/XSL template design and data modeling.
• Database & Infrastructure: Deep understanding of Oracle 19c and hands-on experience working within an Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) environment.
• Migration Experience: Proven track record of handling end-to-end upgrade and migration paths for Oracle legacy applications.
