Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Network Operations Engineer to join our dynamic infrastructure team. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain robust network solutions that deliver high availability, scalability, and security across our enterprise environment. You will play a key role in ensuring network performance and reliability while driving optimization and modernization initiatives aligned with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Network Design & Implementation: Architect, deploy, and manage LAN/WAN infrastructures supporting complex enterprise connectivity and high traffic volumes.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor network performance using tools such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, and Nagios; identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and connectivity issues.
- Security & Compliance: Develop, enforce, and maintain network security policies, ensuring compliance with internal standards and industry best practices.
- Incident Management: Lead incident response and root cause analysis for network outages, collaborating with cross-functional teams to minimize downtime.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate network documentation including topologies, configurations, and change records.
- Mentorship: Guide and support junior network engineers, fostering knowledge sharing and technical excellence.
- Innovation: Stay current with emerging technologies and trends to recommend improvements and future-proof network infrastructure.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering or operations within large-scale enterprise environments.
- In-depth understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching technologies (VLANs, STP), and MPLS.
- Proven experience with network security (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS).
- Familiarity with network automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ansible).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for diagnosing complex network issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as CCNP, CCDP, or equivalent.
- Experience with cloud networking (AWS VPC, Azure Networking, or similar).
- Hands-on experience with Software-Defined Networking (SDN) technologies.
- Expertise in LAN/WAN design and implementation.
- Proficiency with network monitoring and management tools (SNMP, NetFlow, SolarWinds, Nagios).
- Experience with hardware from major vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, and Arista.
