Job Description

As a Senior .NET Developer, you will work across a diverse range of disciplines, including architecture, systems analysis and design, and integration engineering. You will work on a variety of projects.

You will design, build and modernize .NET and integration solutions, including moving legacy integrations such as BizTalk to Azure integration services, and you will help us understand what runs today, decide on the target design, and deliver safe, well-tested changes.

Our work environment is fast-paced and challenging, yet fun at the same time. We pay significant attention to personal and professional development.

Responsibilities:

Design and development

  • Solve complex development tasks and create the architecture for medium-complexity solutions.
  • Critically analyze customer requirements and technical design specifications.
  • Design and build integrations and services (REST and SOAP APIs, messaging, message transformations) using .NET and Azure integration services.
  • Define development timelines and implementation plans, and provide time estimates for sprints and specifications.
  • Deliver solutions according to defined quality standards and agreed estimates.
  • Implement new features and maintain and improve existing functionality and performance.
  • Address and fix bugs in a timely manner.
  • Develop and run unit tests, use test-driven development, and add integration and regression tests for interfaces.
  • Be proactive about scalability, availability, security and code quality, and follow coding standards.

Integration and modernization

  • Analyze and document existing solutions, including legacy integrations such as BizTalk (orchestrations, schemas, maps, pipelines, adapters, ports and business rules), and recover undocumented business logic during knowledge transition.
  • Assess and classify legacy integrations by complexity, criticality and dependencies, and propose a phased modernization roadmap.
  • Plan and carry out migrations to modern platforms: parallel runs, message and data reconciliation, rollback plans and decommissioning of legacy components.
  • Set up CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, monitoring and alerting for the solutions you deliver.

Technical leadership and teamwork

  • Review code and product documentation.
  • Mentor and motivate colleagues and participate in and contribute to team delivery.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders in Denmark and other locations.

Technical Decision-Making Competencies

As a senior member of the team, you will be expected to demonstrate strong technical judgment and the ability to make sound decisions across architecture, integration, modernization, and delivery activities.

  • Architecture and Technology Selection: Evaluate solution alternatives, such as Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, API Management, and custom .NET services, considering factors including cost, complexity, operational requirements, team capabilities, and long-term maintainability. Clearly communicate and justify technical decisions.
  • Migration and Modernization Strategy: Determine the most appropriate migration approach, including phased or big-bang cutovers. Assess risks, dependencies, and business impact while planning parallel runs, rollback strategies, and decommissioning activities.
  • Integration Design: Apply integration patterns and best practices to ensure reliable and scalable solutions. Make informed decisions regarding synchronous versus asynchronous communication, retries, idempotency, dead-lettering, message ordering, and throughput requirements.
  • Security and Compliance: Select and implement appropriate authentication, authorization, and secret-management mechanisms, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, managed identities, certificates, and secure secret storage. Ensure compliance with security and data-protection requirements.
  • Risk, Quality, and Solution Assurance: Define validation strategies for new and modernized solutions through reconciliation processes, regression testing, performance testing, and quality assurance activities. Evaluate and manage technical debt and solution risks.
  • Accountability and Communication: Document major technical decisions through architecture decision records and other technical documentation. Communicate trade-offs, risks, and recommendations clearly to customers, stakeholders, and development teams, and assume ownership of outcomes.
  • Mentoring and Team Enablement: Support the growth of other developers through code reviews, technical coaching, and design discussions that promote high-quality engineering practices across the team.

Requirements

  • Relevant Bachelor's degree or higher, with a minimum of 5 years of software development experience and at least 2 years in a technical lead role.
  • Hands-on BizTalk Server experience (orchestrations, schemas, maps and XSLT, pipelines, adapters, ports), with the ability to analyze and reverse-engineer existing solutions; or, alternatively, strong proven enterprise integration experience (messaging, transformations, orchestration) with the ability to quickly read and reverse-engineer BizTalk solutions.
  • Experience designing and building system integrations: REST and SOAP web services, messaging and queues, file-based interfaces, and XML, XSD, XSLT and JSON, applying common integration patterns.
  • At least 5 years of experience developing backend and web service applications using C#, ASP.NET, XML, JSON and SQL, including current experience with modern .NET (.NET 6 or later, ASP.NET Core).
  • Hands-on experience building integrations with Azure integration services (Logic Apps, Service Bus, Functions, API Management).
  • Strong object-oriented programming and design skills, including designing component-based, n-tier applications and structuring solutions.
  • Knowledge of Windows Communication Foundation (WCF), including how to migrate WCF services to REST APIs or CoreWCF.
  • Experience with Microsoft technology tools (Visual Studio, MS SQL Server) and with Azure DevOps or Git (TFS in legacy projects), including CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
  • Experience securing web services and APIs, including OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect, certificates and secret management, and transport security.
  • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Scrum.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, and experience working in cross-border teams.
  • Analytical, self-motivated, responsible and flexible, with a positive work attitude.

Nice to have

  • Experience migrating BizTalk or other legacy integration platforms to Azure, or legacy systems to modern platforms (for example .NET Framework to modern .NET, or on premises to cloud).
  • Infrastructure as code (Bicep or Terraform).
  • Monitoring and observability (Application Insights, Log Analytics, or similar).
  • Web application development using ASP.NET, JavaScript, CSS and HTML.
  • Experience developing secure web applications, including Secure Token Services and Single Sign-On.
  • OIOSAML exposure.
  • Microsoft Azure certification (for example AZ-204).

Others:

  • Only those applicants who already have the right to live and work in the Philippines are eligible to apply for this role.
