The Senior Merchandising Manager focuses on optimizing sales, inventory, and in-store execution across all channels while ensuring the brand's product offerings align with customer needs and market trends.
YOUR OVERALL MISSION & DAY-TO-DAY
Sales Analysis and Reporting
- Analyze sales trends, customer behavior, competitor activity, and market insights to inform business decisions.
- Use historical data and current trends to optimize product performance and assortment.
- Partner with marketing and channel leads to develop strategies that achieve sales, margin, and inventory targets.
Sales Forecasting
- Lead sales forecasting for new collections, product launches, and promotional events in coordination with the demand planner, marketing, and retail/e-comm heads.
- Provide market positioning, competitor benchmarking, and strategic direction to inform accurate forecasts.
Assortment Management
- Oversee the assortment strategy for all eyewear categories (optical, sun, accessories), identifying gaps and opportunities based on sales and market data.
- Rationalize the assortment per channel and per store using ABC and location-based analysis.
- Partner with product development and marketing to align newness and hero products with seasonal or campaign needs.
- Ensure accurate documentation and monitoring of internal product databases, item codes, and SKU-level performance.
Planogram and Store Merchandising
- Collaborate with the Visual Merchandising team to develop and review planograms that reflect sales goals, customer profile, and inventory levels.
- Monitor planogram effectiveness through sales performance and store feedback, refining layouts as needed to support commercial objectives.
Pricing and Promotion Strategy
- Conduct regular pricing reviews using competitive analysis, customer expectations, and margin goals.
- Recommend retail pricing strategies for new and existing products.
- Align with marketing on promotional strategies that support sell-through, inventory health, and seasonal objectives.
Cross-Functional and Launch Planning
- Work closely with e-commerce, retail operations, marketing, and supply chain to ensure smooth execution of campaigns, rollouts, and pricing updates.
- Lead weekly and monthly check-ins to align teams on product priorities and timelines.
Team Leadership
- Manage and mentor the merchandising team, providing direction and development.
- Oversee the execution of all merchandising initiatives, ensuring consistency and alignment with brand and business goals.
YOUR TALENT
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, Fashion/Retail Management, or related field
- 5+ years of merchandising experience in retail, preferably in fashion, eyewear, or lifestyle brands
- Strong background in sales analysis, assortment planning, and pricing strategy
- Solid understanding of retail operations and customer behavior
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
- Highly collaborative, organized, and analytical
- Knowledge of eyewear trends and customer needs is a plus
