About the Role

One of SM's Retail Affiliate company is in need of Sr. Merchandise Manager. He/she will shape product strategies that drive sales and profitability, using market insights and analytical expertise to influence what customers value and take home. A strategic leader who can turn data into direction, align global brand standards with local customer demand, and lead cross-functional teams to deliver measurable impact. Someone who thrives on curating the right product mix, optimizing margins, and orchestrating merchandise strategies that move the business forward.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and Strategize - Build and lead high-impact merchandising strategies to consistently deliver sales and profit targets.
  • Select Merchandise and Develop Strategies - Create the overall merchandise direction aligned with business goals. Generate insights from analytical reports and translate them into buying strategies and buying sheets.
  • Manage Merchandise Movements - Review and evaluate all buys, including principals and consignors, based on the annual strategy. Collaborate across departments to ensure the assortment reflects customer trends and local market needs while upholding US brand standards.
  • Strategize and Propose Promotions - Analyze inventory and stock levels. Develop and align promotional strategies with Marketing, supported by monthly sales and stock projections to maintain healthy inventory across all categories.
  • Review Pricing, Discounts, and Markdowns - Lead strategic pricing frameworks and optimize merchandise mix to protect margins. Monitor SKU life cycles and oversee aging inventory and markdown efficiency.
  • Logistics and Supply Planning - Work closely with US principals and external partners to ensure container releases comply with brand and cost standards, including factor rate control. Oversee warehouse operations to support inventory strategy and product flow.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years work experience, 3 years of which in a leadership or managerial role

Required Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Customer relationship management
