We're Hiring: Senior Medical Billing Specialist

Are you an expert in U.S. revenue cycle management with deep hands-on experience in Athenahealth We're looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Senior Medical Billing Specialist to join the Connext team and lead end-to-end claim resolutions, accounts receivable (A/R) follow-up, and denial management.

What You'll Do:

• Revenue Cycle Ownership: Manage assigned A/R, research denied or underpaid claims, and handle appeals for commercial payers, Medicare, and Medicaid.
• Patient & Payer Touchpoints: Perform prior authorizations, communicate with insurance providers via portals, and handle inbound/outbound patient billing calls with empathy.
• Data & Reconciliation: Post and reconcile payments, track denial trends, and leverage Excel to report on key revenue cycle metrics.
• Process Improvement: Collaborate with practice leadership to identify recurring billing issues and recommend solutions to streamline operations.

Must-Have Screening Criteria:

• 4+ years of experience in U.S. medical billing and revenue cycle operations.
• 4+ years of hands-on, direct experience using Athenahealth.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
• Ability to work full-time U.S. Mountain Time (MST) or 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM PHT, Monday to Friday.
• Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal) with a stable employment history.

Desired Qualifications:

• 5+ years of U.S. revenue cycle experience (especially in physician/specialty practices, sleep medicine, or DME billing).
• Experience with Medicare Advantage plans, prior authorizations, and advanced Excel analysis.
• Healthcare revenue cycle certifications (CPB, CPC, CRCR).
• Background in mentoring junior billing staff.
