This role is responsible for running medium-sized projects. The successful candidate will undertake a client-facing role in the development, design, and coordination of engineering project services for mechanical installations, systems, equipment, facilities, and so on.
Responsibilities Develops and specifies applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for all building engineering services purposes Surveys tests and reports on existing mechanical installations Specifies activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements Day-to-day decision making on project progress, directly liaising with, and providing advices to, the client Represents the company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams, and contractor teams Carries out engineering calculations to ensure drawings meet required robust industry and legal standards Responsible for technical content and accuracy of trainees or graduates engineers input Validates and checks designs and specifications
Qualifications A relevant degree in Mechanical Building Services Engineering, or equivalent qualification or sufficient suitable experience Passionate senior mechanical engineer with minimum of seven (7) years hands-on HVAC design experience for different types of projects such as high-rise buildings, hotels, commercial buildings, mixed-use buildings, and data centres Experience working in Dubai and UK projects is an advantage Proven working experience in engineering service design industry Proficient in using design software such as E20, Hevacomp, Pipe Flo Knowledge of using equipment selection software such as Flaktwoods, Grundfos, Nuaire Proficient in the application of international standards: UK, ASHRAE, CIBSE Competent in specification design or drawing for several building types Sound knowledge of key Health and Safety issues and legislation Knowledge of MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, etc. Ability to use IT-based calculation and spreadsheet software Good understanding of BS standards Ability to prioritize own workload Ability to work on deadlines Managerial skills
