Job Description

Job Descriptions

  • Assisting Head of Wholesale Banking (WB) Recovery in management of under-performing (UA) and impaired (IA) accounts including:

(1) engaging in negotiations with Borrowers, Guarantors, other Obligors, solicitors and other recovery professionals with a view to arrive at the best resolution to maximise returns to the Bank;

(2) analyzing relevant information and writing proposals for rescheduling and/or restructuring (R&R) or for compromised settlements of UA/IA accounts to obtain approval for said proposals;

(3) implementation of debt restructuring strategies to maximize recovery of UA/IA accounts;

(4) monitoring of litigations and foreclosures, and working with solicitors and other recovery professionals to expedite legal proceedings; and

(5) adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures while executing day-to-day duties.

  • Delivering yearly financial targets set by Management for accounts in the portfolio.
  • Independent evaluation of customers financials and operations and recommending impairment provisions for impaired accounts via DCF.
  • Maximising collections and recoveries.
  • Monitoring of troubled credits and formulating solutions to maximize debt recovery in the most expedient manner.
  • Attending to litigation against defaulters and working with solicitors to expedite legal proceedings.
  • Preparation of credit R&R proposals and settlement proposals for credit committee's approval.
  • Liaising with support departments to ensure smooth administration of credits and accounts managed by GLR.
  • Ensuring timely completion of periodic reports, e.g. on status of recovery actions, for HOD and management's information.
  • Ensuring compliance to internal policies and operational procedures in the course of carrying out his/her duties.
  • Ensuring compliance to regulatory requirements.
  • Enhancing technical knowledge by completing all trainings provided by the bank.
  • Keeping abreast with best practices, regulatory requirements and industry developments in finance, restructuring & recovery.

Job Requirements

  • Degree or Professional Qualification in Finance, Business, Commerce or similar fields
  • Certified Credit Professional (CCP)
  • Professional Credit Certification (PCC)
  • At least 10 years credit experience in SME/Commercial/Corporate environment
  • Experience in restructuring & rescheduling (R&R) and recovery of accounts
  • Proficient in relevant regulatory requirements, industry best practices & policies
  • Proficient in both conventional & shariah business and risk management matters
