Job Description
Description
Our client is a leading international ingredients company with an established presence across Asia and a diversified portfolio serving the food, nutrition and industrial sectors. As part of their continued focus on the region, they are looking to appoint a Senior Manager, Regulatory Affairs - Greater Asia to support their business across key markets in Southeast and Northeast Asia.
Based in Singapore and reporting directly to the Global Head of Regulatory Affairs in the US, this is a senior individual contributor position with significant regional exposure and autonomy. The role will support a broad portfolio of specialty ingredients and solutions across multiple applications and end markets.
Responsibilities
This role will take ownership of regulatory strategy and execution across a number of markets within Southeast and Northeast Asia, ensuring that the organisation remains compliant with evolving local requirements while enabling product innovation, market access and commercial growth.
Beyond traditional regulatory compliance, the successful candidate will be expected to operate as a strategic business partner to Commercial, Marketing, R&D, Technical and Quality teams. You will provide early regulatory input into new product development, innovation and customer projects, identifying potential regulatory risks and opportunities and recommending practical pathways that take into consideration commercial feasibility, timelines and business impact.
An important part of the mandate will be regulatory intelligence. You will monitor and interpret regulatory developments across the region, translate these into actionable business insights and ensure relevant stakeholders understand how emerging regulations could impact existing products, innovation pipelines and future market opportunities.
You will also develop relationships with regulatory authorities, industry associations and other external stakeholders, representing the organisation where appropriate and contributing to regulatory advocacy and industry-shaping initiatives. Internally, you will work closely with both regional stakeholders and the global Regulatory Affairs organisation to align priorities and regulatory strategies.
Requirements
We are looking for an experienced Regulatory Affairs professional with at least 10 years of relevant experience, ideally gained within food ingredients, food and nutrition, specialty ingredients or other closely related industries. A degree in Food Science, Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Law or another relevant discipline is preferred.
You should bring strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks across Southeast and/or Northeast Asia, with experience independently managing regulatory matters across multiple countries. Exposure to B2B ingredients would be particularly relevant, together with experience in regulatory strategy, regulatory intelligence, risk assessment and market access.
Given the seniority and autonomy of the position, the organisation is particularly interested in individuals who can move beyond interpreting regulations to explain what they mean for the business. You should be able to translate complex regulatory requirements into clear recommendations, identify risks before they become obstacles, propose alternative pathways and influence cross-functional stakeholders without relying on formal authority.
This would be an attractive opportunity for an established regulatory professional who enjoys operating at the intersection of regulation, innovation and commercial strategy, and who is looking for a highly autonomous regional role with significant exposure to both Greater Asia stakeholders and global leadership.
