Job Description

This role will drive efficiency through technology, reduce operational overhead, and enable the team to focus on high-value activities. The successful candidate will combine deep technical expertise in automation with shown leadership skills to handle and develop a team during a period of significant change.

Key Responsibilities

Automation Strategy & Delivery

  • Design and implement automation solutions for repetitive tasks such as customer query management, LMS course creation, and promotional asset generation.
  • Develop scripts and tools using AI, Python and other relevant technologies to streamline workflows.
  • Find opportunities for process optimisation and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

Team Leadership

  • Manage and mentor a team currently focused on manual operations, guiding them through the transition to automated processes.
  • Set clear goals and KPIs for automation adoption and efficiency improvements.
  • Develop a culture of innovation and adaptability within the team.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee day-to-day operations during the transformation, ensuring service continuity.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the learning function, technology, customer support, marketing, and learning teams to align automation initiatives with business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with data security and organisational standards in all automation projects.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Expertise

  • Deep technical proficiency (e.g Python, Java) and experience building automation scripts and tools.
  • Data Analytics: Ability to interpret data, build dashboards, and use tools like Power BI or Tableau
  • Business Process Management (BPM): Ability to map, optimize, and redesign processes
  • Fundamentals of AI/ML augmentation for intelligent automation
  • Familiarity with APIs, data integration, and workflow automation platforms.
  • Desirable: Understanding of LMS systems, Asana workflow tool and digital asset management processes.

Leadership & Organisational Change

  • Demonstrable experience developing teams and driving organisational change.
  • Ability to inspire and upskill team members during a transition to technology-driven processes.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Handling sophisticated operational challenges.
  • Analytical Thinking: Identifying automation opportunities and assessing feasibility.

Desirable

  • Experience in customer support operations and/or learning content management.
  • Knowledge of RPA (Robotic Process Automation) tools and cloud-based automation solutions.

Success Metrics

  • Reduction in manual workload by X% within 12 months.
  • Increased operational efficiency and error rate reduction through automation.
  • Positive employee engagement and successful reskilling of team members.
