Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Formulate, evaluate, and execute medium- to long-term fleet development plans while coordinating and aligning key strategies with internal and external stakeholders
- Develop comprehensive newbuilding ordering strategies and lead the execution of global vessel procurement activities
- Lead procurement negotiations with global shipyards—focusing primarily on China—and actively build, strengthen, and maintain strategic partnerships with major shipbuilders
- Perform thorough financial modeling, profitability assessments, and feasibility analyses for proposed vessel investments to support business cases
- Track global shipbuilding trends and commercial terms to ensure procurement projects meet organizational objectives, budget constraints, and project timelines
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery of new built vessels
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline, preferably in Business, Maritime Studies, or related fields.
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience within a shipping company, shipowner, or shipping brokerage environment.
- Proven track record in vessel procurement and Sale & Purchase (S&P) within the shipping, shipbuilding, or trading industries.
- Exceptional negotiation capabilities paired with business-level fluency in both English and Mandarin/Chinese (required for leading communications and negotiations with major Chinese shipyards).
- Basic financial analysis and profitability modeling capabilities, along with proficiency in standard Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
