Job Description

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Manager for Data Privacy & Compliance to help strengthen and advance data privacy governance across the SM Retail Group. Working closely with the AVP for DPA Compliance, this role provides strategic oversight and hands-on leadership to ensure compliance with the Data Privacy Act, NPC issuances, and evolving regulatory requirements.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as a trusted partner to business leaders on data privacy and regulatory compliance
  • Review and assess Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for projects, systems, and programs involving personal data
  • Review and validate Data Privacy Agreements prior to Legal endorsement
  • Drive compliance monitoring through internal privacy audits, on-site reviews, and regular assessments
  • Lead the management and documentation of data privacy incidents, complaints, and data subject rights requests
  • Develop, enhance, and standardize data privacy policies, frameworks, templates, and training materials
  • Deliver data privacy trainings and awareness sessions across the organization
  • Coordinate compliance submissions and regulatory requirements with the National Privacy Commission (NPC) and other governing bodies
  • Help elevate data privacy maturity across the group through continuous improvement initiatives

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accountancy, or a related field
  • Strong background in data privacy compliance, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role
  • Professional certifications such as CIPP, CIPM, or CISA are highly desirable
  • Experience in audit, IT risk, compliance, or enterprise risk management is an advantage
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • High attention to detail, sound judgment, and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset
