Senior Magento Developer

We are seeking a proficient Senior Magento Developer to spearhead the implementation and upkeep of Mr. Shrinkwrap's eCommerce website. In this role, you will be tasked with coordinating closely with the design team, configuring Magento 2 platform, constructing bespoke modules and personalized extensions, evaluating the performance metrics of each site, and overseeing post-installation security enhancements and feature updates.

To excel as a Senior Magento Developer, a strong grasp of object-oriented programming is essential, complemented by recognized certifications in Java and Magento development. Additionally, adept project management skills are crucial. In the end, a seasoned Magento developer possesses the capacity to create and sustain a user-intuitive eCommerce hub that aligns with MSW's requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with the design team to understand and implement design concepts into functional and responsive Magento themes.

Provide technical insights and recommendations to ensure that design concepts are feasible within the Magento framework.

Design, develop, and deploy custom Magento modules and extensions to enhance website functionality and meet business requirements.

Leverage Magento's architecture to create modular, scalable, and maintainable code.

Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code to translate design mockups into fully functional Magento templates.

Implement responsive web design techniques to ensure seamless user experience across various devices and screen sizes.

Identify and resolve interface and layout issues by debugging and troubleshooting frontend components, ensuring consistent and optimal user interactions.

Conduct thorough performance testing and optimization to enhance website speed, responsiveness, and overall user experience.

Implement caching strategies, minimize HTTP requests, and optimize assets (CSS, JavaScript, images) for improved performance.

Stay updated with the latest security patches and updates released by Magento and ensure timely implementation to protect the website from potential vulnerabilities.

Monitor and address security risks and concerns proactively, taking necessary measures to safeguard customer data and sensitive information.

Lead and participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and maintainable codebase.

Perform rigorous testing, debugging, and quality assurance to identify and rectify bugs, inconsistencies, and errors.

Customize and integrate third-party extensions and APIs to extend Magento's functionality and integrate with external systems (payment gateways, shipping providers, CRM systems, etc.).

Create comprehensive technical documentation for developed modules, themes, and customizations to aid in future maintenance, troubleshooting, and knowledge sharing.

Mentor junior developers, providing guidance, sharing best practices, and fostering skill development within the Magento development team.

Stay up to date with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in the e-commerce and Magento ecosystem to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

Manage tasks, prioritize workloads, and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, providing updates on progress, challenges, and solutions.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior Magento developer.

Strong proficiency in Magento2

Background in Zoho One Applications, (not required, but preferred)

Experience developing custom Magento2 extensions and integrations.

Understanding of website performance optimization techniques.

Strong understanding of website analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, SEO, PPC, and A/B Testing.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to project-manage and work to strict deadlines.

Ability to work in a team environment.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a remote team.

Exceptional communication skills.

Amenable to working Eastern Time / graveyard shift.
