Job Description

We are partnering with a fast-growing mechanical and electrical (M&E) consultancy in Singapore, working across data centre, containment laboratory and healthcare projects, in a search for a Senior M&E Engineer (Professional Engineer) to lead building services design from feasibility through to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the mechanical and electrical design of building services projects from feasibility study through detailed design, authority submission and construction completion.
  • Act as Qualified Person (QP) on statutory submissions, carrying personal endorsement and accountability for the design.
  • Own technical delivery through the detailed design phase, producing drawings, calculations and specifications that translate cleanly into construction.
  • Serve as the principal technical contact for clients, architects, fellow consultants, contractors and regulatory authorities across the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate mechanical and electrical services against the architectural and structural disciplines, resolving clashes through combined services drawing coordination.
  • Present and defend design intent at client and consultant meetings, translating technical decisions into terms stakeholders can act on.
  • Manage tender and contract administration, including tender documentation, technical evaluation of contractor submissions and award recommendation.
  • Oversee construction supervision, site inspections, and testing and commissioning through to handover.
  • Support Green Mark certification and energy modelling submissions alongside the sustainability team where projects require them.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) with PEB Singapore, with the standing to act as QP on Singapore submissions.
  • At least eight years of M&E building services experience.
  • Project experience across data center, laboratory and healthcare facilities preferred.
  • Working knowledge of submission requirements under the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), Energy Market Authority (EMA), Public Utilities Board (PUB) and National Environment Agency (NEA).
  • Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) Grade 9 issued by EMA, for candidates applying on the electrical discipline.
  • Proficiency in Revit MEP and AutoCAD, with familiarity in combined services drawing coordination.
