Summary
We're looking for a consultant to build out and deliver structured courses and learning paths within our Skilljar LMS. This person will take designated content, understand what matters most in a teaching context, and turn it into well-structured courses including video creation, written course descriptions, assessments, and proper LMS configuration. They'll also design and configure persona-based learning paths that group courses into logical progressions tailored to specific roles and user types.
What are we looking for
- 3+ years of experience in instructional design, course development, or LMS content delivery, ideally in a SaaS or technology environment
- Hands-on experience with Skilljar or similar LMS platforms, including course setup, learning paths, publishing, and reporting
- Experience using Confluence, with working knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Proven ability to design persona- or role-based learning paths aligned to specific audiences and outcomes
- Strong understanding of effective training design, including sequencing, pacing, assessments, and learner engagement
- Experience creating instructional videos (screen recordings, narration, light editing)
- Strong writing skills for learner-facing content and course descriptions
- Ability to simplify complex product content into clear, practical learning
- Self-directed and organized, with the ability to manage timelines, deliverables, and stakeholders independently
What will you do
- Set up and configure designated courses within Skilljar, including catalog organization, course structure, lesson sequencing, and learner navigation.
- Design and build persona-based learning paths that bundle courses into role-specific progressions ensuring the right people are guided to the right content in the right order.
- Define learning path structure based on persona needs, skill levels, and workflow relevance, partnering with internal stakeholders to validate role definitions and priorities.
- Assess source content and identify the critical teaching moments what learners need to understand, in what order, and at what depth.
- Create instructional videos that clearly walk learners through product workflows and key concepts.
- Write clear, concise course descriptions and supporting copy that set expectations and drive enrollment.
- Build assessments and knowledge checks that reinforce learning outcomes and validate comprehension.
- Ensure Skilljar is correctly configured to showcase courses and learning paths including branding, access controls, publishing settings, and reporting.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to validate content accuracy and alignment with current product behavior.
- Deliver work that meets a consistent standard for tone, quality, and user experience across all courses and learning paths.
