About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java Engineer with expertise in cloud technologies, particularly AWS, to join our dynamic team at SPi Global (now Straive). As a Senior Java Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mission-critical applications that drive our business forward. This is a full-time position, hybrid in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, Metro Manila.
What you'll be doing
- Design, develop, and implement robust, scalable, and maintainable Java-based applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Implement and optimise cloud-based infrastructure using AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, and more
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and deployment processes to ensure high-quality deliverables
- Mentor and guide junior team members to foster knowledge sharing and professional growth
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in Java development and cloud computing
What we're looking for
- 8+ years of experience in Java software development
- Expertise in designing and implementing cloud-based solutions using AWS
- Proficient in building and deploying applications using modern Java frameworks and tools (e.g., Spring, Hibernate, Maven, Git)
- Strong understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
- Hands-on experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Experience in Agile development methodologies
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
