Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Java Software Engineer role based in Taguig. The Senior Java Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain scalable Java applications and microservices that support Metrobank's core banking and digital platforms. The role includes collaborating with product owners, business analysts, and other engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions, and ensuring code quality through testing, code reviews, and adherence to secure development practices. The engineer will optimize system performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to architectural decisions and technical standards. The role also involves mentoring junior developers, documenting technical designs, and working closely with infrastructure and operations teams to ensure reliable deployment and support.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Java and core Programming concepts for building robust, maintainable applications.
• Hands-on experience with the Spring Framework (e.g., Spring Boot, Spring MVC) for enterprise application development.
• Practical experience in Microservices architecture, including designing, implementing, and integrating distributed services.
• Solid background in Software Development practices, including version control, automated testing, and continuous integration.
• Experience working in banking, financial services, or other regulated industries is an advantage.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases, and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is beneficial.
• Ability to analyze complex systems, solve problems effectively, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
