The IT Senior Operations Engineer is responsible for daily operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical optimization of the company's IT infrastructure and server platforms. This role focuses on hands-on technical support to ensure stable operation of networks, servers, virtualization platforms, and related IT services in both office and factory environments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Network and Security Operations
- Perform daily configuration, maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting of firewalls, switches, wireless access points, and routers.
- Handle incidents related to LAN, WAN, Internet, VPN, and Wi‑Fi connectivity to ensure stable and reliable network services.
- Support the execution of network security policies, access control, port management, device hardening, and routine change activities.
- Assist in analyzing network bottlenecks, link issues, and device alarms, and provide technical improvement suggestions.
2. Server and Virtualization Operations
- Manage, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot VMware platforms as well as Windows and Linux servers.
- Perform server installation, configuration, account and permission maintenance, system updates, patch deployment, and service checks.
- Support daily backup verification, log review, system health monitoring, and recovery operations.
- Assist in maintaining AD, DNS, file services, application services, and other core infrastructure platforms.
3. Site Support and Incident Handling
- Support IT infrastructure operations in both office and production environments, including endpoints, network access, system connectivity, and daily issue handling.
- Perform fast analysis, isolation, troubleshooting, and escalation of server, network, and system-related incidents.
- Work with other IT members or supervisors to complete system cutover, equipment replacement, server room adjustment, and maintenance window tasks.
- Support the stable operation of production-related IT equipment and network environments to minimize impact on manufacturing operations.
4. Documentation and Process Compliance
- Maintain device inventories, configuration records, maintenance logs, incident reports, and operation documents as required.
- Execute daily operation and change activities in accordance with company IT standards, SOPs, and ISO requirements.
- Document common issues, resolutions, and troubleshooting steps to improve team knowledge sharing and reusability.
Qualifications
1. Education
- Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related disciplines.
2. Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure, system operations, or network administration.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in firewall and network switch administration.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in VMware, Windows Server, and Linux server operations.
3. Technical Skills
- Familiar with enterprise network architecture, switches, firewalls, wireless networks, and common network troubleshooting methods.
- Familiar with daily administration of VMware environments, including virtual machines, host resources, storage, and runtime monitoring.
- Familiar with installation, configuration, maintenance, permission control, and service troubleshooting of Windows and Linux servers.
- Strong troubleshooting capability and ability to independently resolve common infrastructure and system issues.
4. General Competencies
- Responsible, execution-oriented, and capable of handling issues with good judgment and responsiveness.
- Able to support on-call duties, overtime work, or urgent incident handling when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing plant IT operations is preferred.
- Familiarity with AD, backup systems, monitoring systems, and server room environment management is an advantage.
- Professional certifications such as CCNP, VCP, MCSE, and RHCE are preferred.
- Ability to communicate in Chinese is an added advantage, as the role requires close collaboration with teams in China and Taiwan
