About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Insider Risk Analyst to help protect company data and reduce insider threats across the organization. This role focuses on analyzing large data sets, monitoring employee activities, identifying potential data theft risks, and developing detections to proactively identify suspicious behavior. You will work closely with the Cybersecurity team to investigate risks, improve detection capabilities, and automate security processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and analyze employee and enterprise data to identify insider threats and potential data exfiltration activities.
• Develop, tune, and maintain detection rules, correlation logic, and alerts within SIEM platforms.
• Perform advanced threat hunting and investigative analysis using large data sets.
• Create and optimize SIEM queries to improve detection accuracy and reduce false positives.
• Automate investigations and response workflows using Python, PowerShell, and Bash scripting.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity team members to investigate security incidents and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Support insider risk monitoring programs and continuously improve detection capabilities.
• Participate in after-hours investigations only on an exception basis.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Graduate of any 4-year course; IT or Computer related course is a plus
• 5–8+ years of cybersecurity experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in insider risk, insider threat, threat hunting, or detection engineering.
• Strong data analytics skills with the ability to work extensively with large data sets.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise SIEM platforms and detection engineering.
• Proven experience writing detection rules, tuning alerts, designing correlation rules, and performing advanced SIEM queries.
• Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, and Bash scripting for automation and investigation workflows.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred:

• Experience with insider threat programs and user activity monitoring.
• Strong SIEM query development and detection tuning expertise.
• Experience combining SOC, threat hunting, and security engineering skillsets.
