Job Description
Role: Senior Infrastructure Engineer – VMware & Backup/Recovery
Experience: 5–8 Years
Job Summary: We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer with 5–8 years of hands-on experience in VMware infrastructure, resource provisioning, backup and restore operations, backup validation, and infrastructure resilience. The candidate will be responsible for independently managing VMware resources, backup infrastructure, recovery operations, and resilience of backup environments. The role requires strong technical ownership of backup health, recoverability, capacity, and disaster recovery readiness.
The ideal candidate should be able to design, implement, execute, and validate backup and recovery solutions while ensuring that backup data is healthy, complete, recoverable, and aligned with business continuity requirements.
Mandatory Technical Skills
- 5–8 years of hands-on experience in Infrastructure Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with VMware/ vSphere / ESXi / vCenter.
- Experience in VM provisioning, resource allocation, migration, and lifecycle management.
- Strong experience with enterprise backup and restore operations.
- Hands-on experience with at least one enterprise backup solution.
- Strong knowledge of backup policies, schedules, retention, repositories, replication, and restore procedures.
- Experience performing backup integrity and recoverability validation.
- Experience executing restore testing and disaster recovery exercises.
- Experience designing or implementing backup resilience and redundancy.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across VMware, storage, backup, network, and infrastructure components.
