Job Summary

The Senior Industrial Engineer is responsible for providing proactive line resource analysis to support mass production and new product introduction requirements, ensuring the efficient utilization of equipment, fixtures, storage, material flow, and facility layouts across SMT and Warehouse operations. This role leads space planning initiatives to meet capacity demands, support expansion projects, and drive layout optimization for operational efficiency. Additionally, the position oversees standard time validation and development activities for both existing and new product models, enabling accurate capacity planning, productivity improvement, and continuous operational excellence.

This position will report to Manager, Industrial Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

Capacity Planning

  • Lead capacity planning and resource analysis activities to support production demand, capacity expansion, and operational requirements.
  • Develop and validate standard times to ensure accurate capacity assessments and workforce planning.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on capacity optimization, productivity enhancement, and workplace safety.

Space Planning & Product Transfer Management

  • Lead product transfer, line setup, and facility layout activities for new and existing production lines.
  • Conduct layout studies and assessments and develop proposals to support product transfers and operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with Facilities, Indirect Purchasing (MRO), EHS, Production, and cross-functional teams to finalize line setup and layout solutions.
  • Prepare cost requirement summaries and secure budget approvals for space planning and expansion projects.
  • Drive layout optimization initiatives to improve capacity utilization, safety, material flow, and productivity.
  • Support standard time development, validation, and updates for transferred products and production lines.

  • Standard Time Validation & Line Balancing
  • Perform standard time studies, validation, and updates for SMT and Warehouse operations.
  • Conduct line balancing analysis and identify line balancing losses to improve operational efficiency.
  • Recommend and implement productivity improvements based on work measurement and performance analysis.
  • Maintain accurate standard time databases to support planning, costing, and operational decision-making.

Workflow & Process Improvement Analysis

  • Analyze workflow processes related to man-machine interaction and material movement.
  • Perform Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to identify process inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
  • Evaluate and improve Value-Added Ratios for both manpower and material flow.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and optimize operational performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or any related Engineering discipline; candidates from other engineering fields may be considered based on relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, semiconductor manufacturing, or related industries.
  • Strong background in Industrial Engineering principles, capacity planning, process optimization, and manufacturing operations.
  • Proven experience in leading cross-functional projects involving production, facilities, warehousing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
