Senior Illustrator Designer (Vehicle Wraps Large Format Design)

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Large Format Graphic Designer / Print Production Specialist for a growing business specializing in automotive vehicle wrap design and custom graphics.

In this role, you will be responsible for transforming design concepts into accurate, high-quality, production-ready artwork. Working across various types of automotive vehicles, your primary tool will be Adobe Illustrator, where you will ensure every cut line, vector path, bleed, and dimension is 100% accurate before sending files to production. This position is ideal for a skilled vector designer who loves both creative graphic design and the precise technical demands of prepress and print production.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design and produce high-quality vehicle wraps, signage, and large-format graphics using Adobe Photoshop.
• Create complex Photoshop files with advanced masking, compositing, retouching, smart objects, and non-destructive editing techniques.
• Prepare production-ready artwork by accurately scaling layouts, setting up print files, and maintaining organized layers and file structures.
• Collaborate with the team to develop custom wrap concepts, implement revisions, and ensure designs meet client specifications and print production standards.
• Perform thorough prepress checks on artwork for dimensions, resolution, bleed setup, CMYK color profiles, fonts, and vector paths.
• Identify potential production or installation issues early and modify files to ensure practical installation.
• Collaborate effectively with global production and installation teams to align technical specifications.
• Organize project files, templates, and final artwork while managing multiple project deadlines efficiently.

Desired Attributes, Skills and Experiences:

Tools, Resources & Technical Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years of professional experience with heavy reliance on Adobe Illustrator in a print production or prepress environment.
• Expert-level Adobe Photoshop skills with proven experience designing vehicle wraps, including large-format print preparation, panel layouts, and production-ready files.
• Strong understanding of composition, typography, color management, attention to detail, and file organization, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Backup systems are required (Noise-cancelling headset, backup computer, backup internet, and backup power supply)
• Fluent in written and spoken English, with strong communication skills for an Australian business environment.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating executed wrap projects - please include portfolio Link in your application
• Ability to work independently without close supervision

Highly Preferred

Experience with any of the following is a strong advantage:

• Automotive templates or vehicle wraps/graphics
• Large-format vinyl printing, plotters, and print production equipment
• Signage, decal production, and vinyl cutting prep
• Master of Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign) vector workflows

Work Requirements

• Full-time role: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM AWST / PHT).
