Senior Hydraulics Design Engineer

Main Activities and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

• Design of Hydraulics service design of building services and associated systems of work
• Leads and supervises the Hydraulics Engineering team (Hydraulics Engineer and Graduate Engineer) in implementing project objectives, plans, and programs within the department as directed by management
• Ensures project designs from clients are completed in accordance with prescribed standards for each requesting party's country of origin and intent/content
• Liaison with supply authorities to gain approvals when necessary
• Manages records of all incoming and outgoing drawings in accordance with QA procedures
• Coordinates with other disciplines of the design team
• Controls outputs in accordance with the design works program
• Attends meetings when required both locally and overseas
• Trains and develops junior staff and Hydraulics Engineering team
• Creates project reports for management
• Keeps abreast of updates and advises management
• Assists in multidisciplinary activities
• Uses spreadsheets and 3D modelling to develop hydraulics system designs
• Complies with SHEQ obligations
• Develops team management experience
• Audits junior staff
• Applies safety in design processes on projects
• Prepares technical reports and reviews medium-size project reports
• Leads medium-sized projects across multiple disciplines
• Performs other duties as required by management

Qualifications (Minimum and Desirable)

• Bachelor's degree in Hydraulics Engineering
• Registered Hydraulics Engineer board passer (PSSE) is a plus
• 10+ years experience in a similar capacity
• Knowledge of systems: drainage & vent, cold & hot water, stormwater drainage, rainwater recycle, trade system, and gas system
• AutoCAD and Revit experience is a plus
• Knowledge of procedures and practices
• Knowledge of risk management, ethics, and safety approaches
• Experience with QA and OH&S systems
• Experience managing projects of varying complexity and size
