Senior Human Resources Manager / Chief of Staff to the CEO

Location: Worldwide

Employment Type: Full-Time

Work Arrangement: 100% Remote

Compensation:$1,200–$1,550 USD per month, depending on experience and qualifications

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer

About the Position

We are looking for a highly organized, experienced, and proactive Senior Human Resources Manager / Chief of Staff to the CEO to join our growing team.

This is a unique hybrid position combining senior-level Human Resources leadership with executive support and Chief of Staff responsibilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the company's HR function, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, HR policies, performance management, and employee support. At the same time, this individual will work closely with the CEO as a trusted partner, helping manage priorities, coordinate projects, follow up with team members, organize information, and ensure important initiatives are executed.

This position is ideal for someone who is highly dependable, extremely organized, proactive, discreet, and comfortable taking ownership without requiring constant supervision.

You will work directly with the CEO and will be trusted with confidential employee, business, and executive information.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources

  • Manage the company's day-to-day HR operations.
  • Serve as the primary HR point of contact for employees and management.
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
  • Support employee relations and address employee questions and concerns.
  • Assist managers with performance issues, employee communication, and workplace matters.
  • Develop and maintain employee handbooks and internal HR procedures.
  • Coordinate benefits and other employee-related programs as applicable.
  • Assist with payroll-related HR matters.
  • Monitor HR compliance requirements and coordinate with appropriate professionals or providers when necessary.
  • Help build a professional, accountable, and positive company culture.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and employee experience.

Recruiting & Talent Acquisition

Recruiting will be a significant part of this position.

The successful candidate will:

  • Create and maintain job descriptions.
  • Post positions across appropriate recruiting platforms.
  • Source and identify qualified candidates.
  • Review resumes and applications.
  • Conduct initial phone and video interviews.
  • Develop structured interview processes.
  • Coordinate interviews with hiring managers and the CEO.
  • Communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process.
  • Maintain candidate pipelines and recruiting records.
  • Assist with offer letters and hiring documentation.
  • Coordinate onboarding for new employees.
  • Help develop an efficient and scalable recruiting process.
  • Continuously identify ways to improve the quality and speed of hiring.

Chief of Staff / Executive Support

In addition to HR responsibilities, you will work directly with the CEO as an Executive Partner / Chief of Staff.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Help the CEO organize and prioritize daily, weekly, and long-term priorities.
  • Track important projects, deadlines, and action items.
  • Follow up with team members and managers on assignments and deadlines.
  • Coordinate communication between the CEO and different departments.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, notes, summaries, and follow-up items.
  • Attend virtual meetings with the CEO when appropriate.
  • Document decisions and ensure action items are followed through.
  • Prepare reports, spreadsheets, presentations, and other materials for the CEO.
  • Conduct research and provide summaries and recommendations.
  • Help coordinate company-wide initiatives and special projects.
  • Assist the CEO with administrative and operational priorities.
  • Identify issues that require attention and bring them to the CEO proactively.
  • Ensure important information reaches the appropriate people.
  • Help turn the CEO's priorities into organized, actionable tasks.
  • Take ownership of projects from beginning to completion.

Remote Work Expectations

This is a 100% remote position.

The successful candidate must have:

  • A reliable internet connection.
  • A professional and quiet home working environment.
  • A computer capable of handling video conferencing and standard business applications.
  • The ability to participate in video meetings.
  • Strong availability and responsiveness during agreed working hours.
  • The ability to work independently without constant supervision.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills.

Because this position works directly with the CEO, responsiveness, reliability, and communication are extremely important.

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of professional HR experience.
  • Strong experience with recruiting and talent acquisition.
  • Experience managing employee onboarding and offboarding.
  • Experience handling employee relations and HR administration.
  • Strong written and spoken English.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience working with managers or senior leadership.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • HR certification such as SHRM, HRCI, or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as an HR Manager, Senior HR Manager, HR Business Partner, Executive Assistant, Executive Business Partner, or Chief of Staff.
  • Experience working directly with a CEO, founder, or executive.
  • Experience working for a U.S.-based company.
  • Experience managing remote employees.
  • Experience building HR processes for a growing company.
  • Experience with HRIS, recruiting platforms, project management systems, and collaboration tools.

Compensation

Monthly Compensation: $1,200–$1,550 USD

Final compensation will be based on:

  • Relevant HR experience
  • Recruiting experience
  • Executive/Chief of Staff experience
  • English communication skills
  • Level of independence
  • Overall qualifications and experience

Exceptional candidates with directly relevant experience may be considered at the higher end of the range.
